20% OF FINAL SCORE

This percentage can change due to exception applications.

The improvement activities performance category is weighted at 20% of the MIPS for MIPS Alternative Payment Model (APM) participants reporting the (APP). We evaluate each MIPS APM and assign a score for the improvement activities performance category that will be applied to  reporting the APP.

To view the list of MIPS APMs, please refer to the Comprehensive List of APMs.

What Improvement Activities Am I Evaluated on?

In an effort to further reduce reporting burden for MIPS eligible clinicians in MIPS APMs, we allocate a baseline score for each MIPS APM based on the specific improvement activity requirements of the MIPS APM. Participants in MIPS APMs automatically receive a minimum 50% credit in the improvement activities performance category.

How Are Improvement Activities Scored?

Each improvement activity is classified as either medium-weighted (earning 10 points) or high-weighted (earning 20 points). However, all MIPS APM participants who report the APP (at the individual, group, or APM Entity level) will automatically receive 100% (20 out of 20 points toward their MIPS final score) for the improvement activities performance category score for the 2024 performance year. No additional reporting is required.
